The end result

Recently in my 20 time I haven't been doing much because I finished over Christmas break. Next year I am going to continue with going in to the nursing home. After we finished I felt very accomplished, it made me realize how lonely some of the people are in there. When I do it next year I hope to go to the same nursing home and complete the same thing I did. When we were in there they looked very happy, and thankful. The ones that understood what we were doing said thank you. Since we went into the Alzheimer's unit some of the elderly didn't really understand. After completing this I feel as if I completed a lot of the semester, and can't wait to do it again next year.

Paragraph #1- How is the information you researched able to help others who have your same passion?

Paragraph #2- What 20 Time work have you completed recently? What will you be doing over the final days of the semester to help you follow through with your goal(s) for the project?

The information I have written so far will help many who have the same passion as me in various ways. Learning about what a Pediatrician does and the many requirements of this job will help others around me with the same passion. I have researched a lot about a Pediatrician so far and learned the salary, what this job does, high school requirements. A pediatrician is helping children and working with younger children as a physician. Working with a passion you have will make your job exciting to go to each day. A person with the same passion as me and learning about the information I have found will help them pursue a job that includes helping others.
So far in my 20 time project  I have been organizing all these essentials needed to complete my 20 time work. On one of the upcoming days in December I will be visiting my moms nursing home handing out christmas gifts to the elderly. In order to complete this I will have to follow through with everything and not out stuff behind me.

Researching careers

After researching job oppurtunities that I could pursue with my passion I found nursing, and a peditrician. Although there are tons of job oppurtunites that involve my passion I found these the most interesting. If I would pursure the nursing job there would be a few things I wouldnt like about the job. The money isnt high paying unless you have a particular part in the nursing career. I also don't know if I could handle some of the things that nurses have to do. I like that it is pursing my passion but I don't know if I could see myself following through with this job. On the othere hand a peditrictian requires different things, you work with kids which I would like much more. I have always wanted to work with kids. Their are many different peditricians I could be for example: researcher, teacher, labatory etc. The only thing I dislike is the amount of schooling this job requires. I realized after researching jobs that fall under my passion that most of them require a lot of schooling.

The after effect

Throughout the 20 time project I have learned a lot. The most valuable and meaningful lesson I learned would be that no matter what troubles come across you in life you have to face them and keep going. This compares to the 20 time project because ever since the beginning of the process we knew it wasn't going to be easy. We have to follow through and compromise to get the end result we want. This is important because not everything in life is going to be easy, this entire process is teaching us life challenges we may come across. This lesson will help motivate us to keep trying and don't give up because it's helping others smile. It will help us complete the project because by the end it will all be worth it. I also believe the 20 time project will benefit us all throughout highschool. I can look back at the project and realize I came a long way to complete something that makes not only me happy but others. When I'm choosing a career dierection I can look back at this project and choose something that reflects to this project. I will remember this project forever, not only because it was my first huge project but because it is something that is gunna help me later in life.

Pitchday

Now that Pitchday is over I'm relieved on what we had all accomplished. We showed others what passion we have and what it means to us. I wasn't nervous at all I was actually excited to begin showing others something I'm passionate aboout. Each one of us want to make a difference in our community and world. As more and more people came to my 20 time I got more comfortable. At first I wasn't sure on want to say, or what to expect. As the last person came to my presentation I knew exactly what to say, and what to expect which made it easy for me. When all the adults, and teachers were walking around I had a warm feeling inside me. It was hard to believe that we have came all of this way. We're just kids that want to make a difference in the world, and are passionate about something. I am amazed by how far us Honors English students came in the past few weeks. Now that I look back at Pitchday I am so happy that I was given this oppurtunity to show people something that's obvious to us and amazing to others.

The Process

So far working on the 20 time project I learned a lot about the real world. In the real world you have a lot more responsibilities then you would as a regular student. Working and completing this project I realized you have to problem solve to get things done. You have to handle things more seriously then what you would as a student in school still. For example I had to email and call several organizations to see if they would allow what we wanted to do for this project. Some organizations turned us down but we had to problem solve. All of this extra work, and struggles we came across made me realize this is what the real world will be like. It helped me prepare for the real world, and upcoming challenges in life. In the end we decided to work with a nursing home to give love and happiness to the elderly people.

Contacting the Authority

Recently I have been coming across some troubles with the 20 time project. Karlie and I called the children's home of york and they could not provide us what we wanted to do. There organization is not an 'orphanage' or what we are looking to do. Our next plan is to help families that cannot provide for their kids. Some families do not have the money to give gifts to their children, so we can provide those gifts and give the kids the happiness they deserve for Christmas. Also we would like to go into a nursing home and give the elderly some presents for Christmas. A lot of them probably do not feel loved because there families "abandoned" them, or are no longer around. Karlie and I want to go that extra mile to help people in need every possible way we can. No matter how many struggles we face we will have our dreams come true. From this part of the assignment I learned I need to keep trying and not give up. Although this part is tough I am learning along the way what changes I need to make to succeed.
